The Grazing sculptures are made to order in a limited edition of 50 per animal.
Every owner has the delight of choosing which of the metallic finishes their sculpture is cast in. The use of real fleeces also adds to the uniqueness of each finished piece.
All Grazing sculptures are finished with the maker’s logo discretely stamped in to the leatherwork, the serial number engraved in to the metalwork and come with certificate of authenticity.

Making special effects is a complex business. How did you get started?
Initially I learnt at the side of Oscar winning Derek Meddings. The beauty was that I worked through the process from concepting, model making to shooting and delivery of final film to producers, ready for editing directly in to a motion picture.
What about the rewards?
Whatever you are doing, you are playing with visual reality, getting the audience to suspend disbelief.
You start out with a studio full of materials and end up with something totally believable or even unbelievable. Arriving at that final point is always a mixture of relief and deep satisfaction.
Any mad moments to share?
Too many really! Working on most of the Harry Potter films brings back many memories. But so too does, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Batman, ‘V’ for Vendetta and many, many more.
Where do your other projects fit in to this?
I am surrounded by other master craftsmen in my studio. Together we create so many amazing things.
The only ‘but’ is that it is always for camera. Building professional classical guitars, tooling intricate hand made inlays…well each one has the same aesthetic and technical values as all my work, but the guitars, they endure. I need that outlet.
How did ‘Grazing’ your new project come about?
I’ve always been interested in wildlife. As a maker, I think it was always inevitable that I would turn my attention in that direction at some point. It brings a fresh set of challenges and they will also endure.
What are you aiming for with the Grazing sculptures?
The fun is bringing these creatures out of the wild and getting them into unexpected settings…is it real, isn’t it?…creating that amazement, doubt then surprise that these sculptures generate. Then you look closer and the use of bronze and other highly polished metals takes the game to an unexpected new level.
